A Children’s Portrait

It is cold and snowy outside, a good day to do some in- studio work. I know that this is a change from the images you usually see here but my background is mostly as a studio photographer. I have been very fortunate in my life as far as work goes.
Luckily, photography has been my sole profession. Since beginning my business in college, I have maintained a studio where ever I  have lived.
So, today is a great day to start sharing a bit more of my work with you.

    Thank you.
    Great portrait.
It is about time we get to see some of your “bread and butter work” which has kept you going for all of these years.
    Please keep posting.

Thank you Charles, it is always good to hear from you. I will be posting more of these “bread & butter” images usually with some insight into how they were done.

Wonderful feeling to this image. I would imagine that these are grandchildren? And I can just imagine the fun they have posing, and playing with these types of shots. The insight will be good too, as I’m always looking to learn more.

Hi Mike, Thanks for the comment. I am glad that the feeling came across to you. That “photo to viewer” communication is what I strive for in my work. This image was taken a few years ago, and is a studio photograph of the children of a medical professional couple who live here in Xenia. I am sure that they are grandchildren, just not mine. You are right, they really had fun posing and playing. The story of how it was made will be in my next post.
